FotoFacial Skin Rejuvenation

Over time, our skin's youthful appearance and texture is affected by the cumulative effects of collagen and moisture loss, sun exposure, acne and more. Fractional skin resurfacing helps restore your skin's beauty by treating mild to moderate wrinkles, red and brown spots and textural irregularities.

How does Matrix RF™ fractional skin resurfacing work?
The Matrix RF places 61 tiny beams of heat into the skin with each pulse. The RF energy induces a skin injury over the region of the matrix spots with an accelerated healing process supported by the non-affected tissue surrounding the matrix spots. This way, the treatment can produce much improved color and texture of your skin with significantly less recovery time than traditional C02 full ablative laser resurfacing. Post-treatment, you’ll notice increased levels of beneficial collagen and new healthy skin cells. Mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discolorations are reduced, and the texture of your skin becomes smoother and more elastic. Your mother-like appearance will disappear with each treatment.

How is Fractional Ablative Different From Traditional Ablative?
Traditional ablative resurfacing heats and removes the complete surface of the skin resulting in a longer recovery period. Fractional technology reaches deeper into the skin, but covers the skin area in patterns of dots instead of a solid area. Though CO2 ablative (full skin removal) laser resurfacing has been the gold standard for non-surgical facial skin rejuvenation for more than ten years, it has limitations that include a prolonged recovery period (weeks), hypo-pigmentation (unwanted lightening of skin color), and the potential for infection that can lead to scarring. Fractional technology avoids all of these limitations.

What results can you expect?
Expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and acne and other scarring. In addition, patients will see an improvement in texture and skin laxity. On average, most results appear over a period of three to six months, but some patients notice results immediately after treatment.

What happens after Matrix RF™ Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Most patients have mild redness and swelling for a few hours after the treatment. You may apply make-up to the treated area after the procedure. Results will develop over time and with subsequent treatments. Full results can be appreciated three to six months following the last treatment. Maintenance treatments may be necessary to maintain the results.

Can this be combined with other treatments?
The Matrix RF™ may be combined with many other cosmetic treatments in our office such as Foto-Facial, BOTOX® Cosmetic and injectable fillers. Many patients choose to undergo combination treatments in order to achieve the maximum aesthetic result.
