Sun Damage and Rosacea

Bella Luz MD uses the Reveal Imaging System to take photos of you in ultraviolet light and in other wavelengths so you can see for yourself the current condition of your skin. During the course of your personalized skin care treatment plan , your progress can be monitored.

The flat brown and black spots that occur on areas exposed to the sun are called age spots, sun spots, or even liver spots, though they have nothing to do with the liver. They are in no way related to the function of the liver, or the liver itself.

Sun Damage may also present in the way of increased visible vascularity in the skin including general redness or visible small vessels.

Rosacea is a chronic condition characterized by facial erythema (redness). Rosacea typically begins as redness on the central face across the cheeks, nose, or forehead, but can also less commonly affect the neck, chest, ears, and scalp. Many people also develop small visible vessels on their face as well, often called telangiactasia. These are treated in the same manner as rosacea.
